The computer game market has changed a lot in the past few

that you start with a small startup instead of a huge corporation.
Most people choose to be a computer game tester because they
think it will only be fun and games. After all, all you have to do is play
games all day and get paid for that, right? Well, that is slightly right, but
it’s not all sunshine and roses. The role of a game tester is as important as a
developer and designer. Without anyone experienced enough to test the new games
and make sure they are impeccable, games would hit the market with flaws, which

Game testing doesn’t mean you will get to play
the whole day
You will not be paid just for playing games the whole day.

business in this career. Therefore, you need to treat it as such. If you are
hired as a computer game tester, you need to understand the company culture and
take the job seriously. Game testers are essentially quality checkers, which
means hard work. Often, this means playing the same level again and again in
different ways, or paying close attention to the background in order to find
all bugs and glitches. Like all other jobs, game testing can be exhaustingand
boring.
You need specific skills to survive in this
career
The market is chock-full of wannabe testers since everyone
can simply play a game. You need to have certain skills to differentiate you
from the crowd. The most valuable skills for this career is to be observant and
analytical. You also require a strong will and determination since you will be
doing the same tasks several times. You must remember that being a computer
game tester is a job and it’s not there for your entertainment.
This job is not something you can do forever
Once you are in the gaming industry, learn as much as you can
in order to climb up the gaming corporate ladder.You will need some
qualifications if you are to develop a fulfilling and long career in the
industry. By getting these qualifications, you will find
it easier to get promoted in various positions in the gaming industry.
